Use this heavy 18/8 stainless steel pie chain when baking unfilled pie shells (also know as "blind baking") to prevent the dough from shrinking or puffing in the oven. It's more foolproof than using dried beans, pricking, crumpling foil and other unreliable methods. Simply spiral the chain in the bottom of the shells before baking. When cool, remove the chain to reveal a perfect crust that's ready for filling.
